The New Apple Peel 520 will soon work with Apple’s new iPod Touch 4G released recently, according to sources at GoSolarUSA. In a statement, the company said, a few tweaks will be necessary to adapt the Apple Peel for the new iPod Touch 4g.

Apple unveiled the 4g iPod Touch on September 1. The new ipod touch is lighter and thinner than previous models and two video cameras have been added to enable video chat.

The Apple Peel 520 is a wireless skin capable of turning the iPod Touch 4g into a smartphone, adding calling and text messaging capabilities.

“The Apple Peel 520 is a flexible, protective skin that slips over the iPod Touch’s case and includes a battery, dock connector and SIM card,” said GSLO President Tyson Rohde.

“The new iPod Touch includes a couple of cameras and an integrated microphone in addition to its slimmer design. We’re working to help ensure that a new version of the Apple Peel will fit the new Touch snugly without covering the mic and camera lenses,” added Rohde.

Apple claimed that the company has sold 275 million iPods since the device’s release. Rohde said GSLO anticipates similar sales figures.

“The Apple Peel 520 is a very affordable piece of technology that could greatly increase the functionality and value of the iPod Touch 4G,” said Rohde.

Apple Peel 520’s would cost around $57 in the U.S., making its combination with the iPod Touch 4G a more economical alternative to Apple’s costlier iPhone 4.
